James L. Grocholl joined SDi in 2024 as Maritime Surveillance Associates (MSA) Manager, Principal Staff. Prior to joining SDi Jim was Vice President of Maritime Surveillance Associates, Inc, for over twenty years. As Vice President and Principal developer, Jim manages the development of the Global Reconstruction, Analysis & Measurement System (GRAMS), a software suite used extensively throughout the U.S. Navy.
Jim has a B.S., Computer Information Systems, from Southern New Hampshire University, an A.A.S, Electrical Engineering from State University of New York. Jim also served five years in the U.S. Navy as an Acoustic Analyst with deployments to the North Atlantic and Mediterranean. Jim credits his time serving aboard Patrol Squadron Ten in the 1980’s as providing great insight and experiences in the development of software systems that improve analyst capabilities and reduce operator workload
Jim resides in Brunswick, Maine with his wife Kelly. They have two grown children employed in the Education and Health Care professions. He enjoys spending time with family, boating on the coast of Maine, and maintaining his gentleman’s farm.
