SDi values the opportunity to work with the exceptional talent of BYU’s Electrical and Computer Engineering seniors on a capstone project.
This year SDi tasked six BYU seniors, Capstone Team #33, with figuring out how to modernize existing SDi 32-bit C++ more efficiently, quickly, and thoroughly than is currently done by using Artificial Intelligence. The challenge had the added requirement of needing to be completed in a CUI-compliant environment, which limited the toolsets and increased the complexity. This required them to learn the Microsoft Azure Environment in the process. Capstone Team #33 spent about ten hours per week for the entirety of their senior year working on the project. During the process their tasking morphed to include building a CUI AI environment that was flexible and could be used by different SDi departments, not just the software team.
SDi mentors Jon Dionne, Rob Kunz, Mike Ferrante, Michael Carroll, and Brad Willman supported the project.
